Hi everyone, since finishing up some great shows with Jason Donovan at the end of April, it has been a hectic time firstly rehearsing and then recording season 2 of 'Jane and Friends' which will be aired weekly on Friday evenings, beginning 6th July, at 9pm on Channel 5.
Put down your cuppa! Get up and boogie with @TheJaneMcDonald on Friday nights as @channel5_tv brings you all new, all singing, all dancing, all laughing Jane McDonald & Friends. Starting Friday 6th July at 9pm. 👩🎤🎤🎼💃 #JaneMcDonaldandFriends #singalong pic.twitter.com/x8XpTa5vyU— Channel 5 Press (@Channel5Press) June 27, 2018
The first show features Gwen Dickey (the voice of Rose Royce) and it was a real thrill to record the iconic track 'Wish Upon A Star' with her. There are many great guests on this series along with brilliant tracks from Jane of course - including my own song 'One More Day', co-written with her and featured on the 'Hold The Covers Back' album.
Keep updated on the weekly episodes via my Instagram page.
On the eve of recording this new series, Jane won a BAFTA for her 'Cruising with..' show also currently showing on Channel 5. Many congratulations to her, an amazing achievement. I managed to get a pic with the gong during filming and though my own contribution to that show -playing guitar on many of the themed songs- is tiny, it is wonderful to be just a small part of a BAFTA winning TV show.
Channel 5 have just released an album of music featured on the 'Cruising' show and you can here me playing guitar on such iconic tracks as 'Proud Mary', 'California Dreaming' and 'Lost in France' (great harmony guitar solo on that one!) among many others - it's a real eclectic mix! The album looks set to be her biggest chart success in 20 years!
On the 20 year theme, we kicked off Jane's '20th Anniversary Tour' in early June with a fantastic sell out show at Blackpool Winter Gardens.

Have a great summer! ☀️Steve
Hi everyone! 2017 into '18 has been a really busy period and I've very grateful for all the great playing opportunities that have come together; 2018 looks set to be an incredible year. Here's what's been happening, and a little of what's to come...
Jane and Friends Season 1 - Channel 5
Following a great xmas show featuring Shayne Ward duetting with Jane on 'Baby it's Cold Outside', I'm playing guitar on all five shows of 'Jane and Freinds' Season 1 for Channel 5 performing with Jane and many of her guests such as Tony Hadley, The Overtones, Kerry Ellis and Shayne -again. It's an old fashioned entertainment show and it was great to be a small part of the hugely talented team of people that made it happen.
The first episode features Westlife star Shane Filan and the legendary Alexander O'Neal plus there's some great tracks from Jane's most recent live show including a medley of Earth, Wind and Fire classics plus a really beautiful version of the song I co-wrote with Jane, 'I'll Be There' also featuring Jamie Little and Richard Hammond.
Jane's most recent album was released in November 2017 and I was delighted to play guitar on all the tracks including two of my own songs which feature; 'I'll Be There' and 'One More Day'. The album features entirely original material and has been well received by fans. Many of the new songs will feature on the 20th Anniversary UK tour which runs from June to September 2018. Here's a full list of dates.

Kogo and Climax
Besides the TV show and album with Jane, I've been working with two really diverse bands with gigs for the incredible Kogo Project and the legendary Climax Blues Band in the UK and Europe.
I played with Kogo in London in January at Pizza Express Live in Soho- nice little montage of video here;
.....and we have another gig coming up as part of HCA Music Week in Hereford on March 8th.
I was extremely honoured to step in and cover some gigs for the Climax Blues Band, first at the legendary 100 Club in London, and then for some Blues festivals in Germany.
Here's a few great images of the German shows taken by Beate Grams.
